The Academy for Cultural Diplomacy (ACD) is inviting individuals and students who need an internship as a compulsory part of their BA or graduate studies to engage in cultural diplomacy to apply for the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy Voluntary Internship Project.

The programme which is also aimed at further promoting cultural diplomacy and multiculturalism worldwide is a five-year programme and is open to individuals who are coming from the following fields:

  • Communication and Journalism
  • Film, Photography and Visual Art
  • Arts and Culture
  • International Relations and Politics
  • Marketing and Public Relations and
  • Journalism

To be eligible, the applicants must be currently enrolled and need the internship as a compulsory component of their academic studies or participants of the ERASMUS programme.

The voluntary internships are full time, unpaid, and last between two and three months and applicants must have good spoken and written English. The programme places a high value on flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well with others. Applicants must be prepared for a flexible working environment as teams and tasks might alter often according to the programme agenda.

Due to the large amount of activity and programs that ICD runs throughout the year Interns work in teams under the direction of a Team Leader/Program Director with minimal supervision.

All interns are expected to possess a personal laptop, which they need to take to the office on a daily basis.

Interns will be involved in a number of activities including: international conferences and daily events, office administration and logistics, event administration and logistics, raising awareness, PR and marketing, acquiring speakers and partners, and support for conferences and events, among other activities.

They will also have the opportunity to participate in one or more of its five international conferences including the World Forum on Cultural Diplomacy in the UN 2022; the Annual Forum on Cultural Diplomacy 2022; and the World Forum on Cultural Diplomacy in Africa, in the Arab World, and Central Asia.
