The Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) will hold its 6th Annual Conference from September 4 to 5, 2019, at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Kuto, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Conference which will explore “National Interest, Freedom of Expression and Governance” in Africa is also calling or papers for presentation at the Conference.
ACSPN is a body committed to advancing the scholarly study and practice of communication by promoting and facilitating the pursuit of excellence in academic research and professional practice in Nigeria.
The theme of the Special Panel is:” Media Sustainability and the Consolidation of Democracy”. The choice of Abeokuta, according to the organisers, is symbolic and historical, as 2019 is the 160th anniversary of the founding, in 1859 by Reverend Henry Townsend, of the first newspaper, Iwe Irohin, in Nigeria.
