The Africa Movie Academy Awards has announced plans to honour three African journalists with cash prizes in April 2014.
The award tagged ‘Media Recognition Award’ will give cash prizes of $5,000 to the 1st position, $3,000 to the 2nd position, and $2,000 to the 3rd position as part of AMAA’s 10thanniversary celebrations.
According to Mr. Steve Ayorinde, a foundation juror of AMAA since 2005, said: “This media award is open to all journalists in Africa; journalists in print, broadcast and online media who have covered and published significant reports about the award that depicts the essence of AMAA and its impact on African Cinema.”
Entries to be submitted must have been published in well – known national newspapers, journal and/or magazine. For broadcast and online publications, it must be from a reputable radio or television station and online medium that generate African content.
Submission of entries should be between December 1, 2013 and February 28, 2014.
A five-man panel of media professionals will review submitted entries for the award.
