Applications Invited for Global Business Journalism Programme

The School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, is inviting applications for a Master of Arts degree in global business journalism, with which it seeks to train future journalists who can help the public understand the complexities of global business and the economy.

The two-year programme, a partnership between Tsinghua University in Beijing, China; the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Bloomberg News, is taught in English. 

Applicants should complete the Online Application on the website of the Tsinghua University Graduate Programmes Application System for International Students during the designated application period. Applicants should fill in the application information online, upload the application required documents to the Online Application System, and pay the application fee online at the time of submission.

To be eligible, applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport; Master’s degree programme applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree to a bachelor’s degree (or above) in China; applicants should be in good health and of good character, be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China’s laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua’s rules.

Applicants must demonstrate strong English skills, as all teaching will be conducted in English. If the applicant’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application.

Applicants will be expected to upload the following on the application portal: personal statement, degree certificate, academic transcript; English level certificates. e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, etc. for non-English-speaking students; two academic recommendation letters from scholars who hold the title of associate professor or higher, or senior professionals in a related academic field, international passport personal information page, among others.

Some programmes may require additional application documents, applicants are therefore advised to check the programme remarks in the “Catalogue of Graduate Programmes” or the programme admission brochures.

A limited number of scholarships are available to top applicants. Those interested in applying for a scholarship are encouraged to apply early.

Applications fee is RMB ¥800 and submission of applications closes on April 1, 2022.
