Journalists from around the globe are invited to apply for the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists which provide an opportunity for national and international journalists to improve their reporting skills and gain valuable insights through faculty lectures and dynamic discussions.
Billed to be held at the Wharton School’s state-of-the-art facility in Philadelphia from October 16 to 18, 2023, the Seminars will, through intensive lectures and hands-on exercises, help participants gain a better understanding of key business and economic issues.
For more than 50 years, the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists have proudly hosted reporters, editors and producers from news organizations around the world. The diversity of participating journalists – representing newspapers, magazines, broadcast and international news media – creates a rich environment for learning alongside the faculty of the Wharton School.
They have become known as the premier business education programme of its kind having offered more than 2,000 journalists the opportunity to expand their knowledge of business, increase their exposure to leading experts, and broaden their perspectives in a stimulating environment.
Many funding opportunities are available for the Philadelphia programme and applicants are to decide what financial support package is right for them. Some funding opportunities require separate applications to both the sponsoring organization and the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists.
The Wharton School offers funding to allow selected journalists whose reporting contributes unique insights to the world of business to attend the Seminars in Philadelphia. The funding covers the cost of tuition, course materials, most group meals, lodging for three nights and airfare within the US (where appropriate). The financial support does not cover any other expenses and other restrictions may apply.

The Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists programme was founded by the Wharton Communications Office in 1968, in conjunction with business journalists and business leaders, to help journalists gain a better understanding of key business issues.
