London’s City, University Celebrates 40 years of Journalism

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its Journalism Department, City University in London will on February 9, 2017 host Journalism alumni, students, current and former staff to an evening event at the Drapers’ Hall in London, The United Kingdom.

City University started as a postgraduate department in 1976 and has developed some of the most respected Journalism courses in the country.

Dermot Murnaghan (PG Dip Journalism, 1984) and presenter for Sky News will host the event. He will also interview other distinguished Journalism alumni including Kamal Ahmed (PG Dip Newspaper Journalism, 1991); Samira Ahmed (PG Dip Journalism, 1990); Anushka Asthana (PG Dip Periodical Journalism, 2003); Caroline Faraj (MA International Journalism, 2000); Tony Gallagher (PG Dip Newspaper Journalism, 1986); Helen Lewis (PG Dip Newspaper Journalism, 2005);  Jane Martinson (PG Dip Newspaper Journalism, 1991); and Sally Shelford (PG Dip Periodical Journalism, 2000) among other speakers to be announced.

Attendance attracts a £20 fee per person and it include a buffet and a welcome drink. The evening will start with a drinks reception, followed by a discussion and will round up with networking accompanied by live music. The organizers recommend smart casual dress code for the event.
