DW Invites Applications for its International Journalism Traineeship

Germany’s public international broadcaster, Deutsche Welle (DW), is accepting applications for its International traineeship from young people all over the world who are interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism programme with an international broadcaster.

The 18-month training will provide applicants Internships opportunity with DW English and German editorial departments that will give them a chance to look into economic and cultural issues as well as news and sports.

Deutsche Welle is looking for candidates with journalism experience or passionate candidates ready to switch to journalism from technology/IT, economics or the sciences. The programme covers the range of journalism’s skills that will be useful for future needs. Candidates will have training in TV moderation, multimedia storytelling, data journalism, social media and virtual reality. Applicants should prepare to be involved in long-term innovative, international projects. Successful applicants will continue to work for DW.

Applicants must have completed a university or college degree prior to the start of the traineeship. DW will accept applications from candidates who can provide proof of having completed an apprenticeship or have graduated from a journalism school and have several years of experience as journalists. All applicants are required to include certified certificates of their qualifications in pdf format.
