The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is calling for nominations for its 2019 Knight International Journalism Awards.

ICFJ honours outstanding journalists with the Knight International Journalism Award at its annual gala in Washington, D.C. ICFJ is seeking for nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have made an impact on the lives of people in their countries or regions. Candidates can be reporters, editors, technologists, media managers, citizen journalists or bloggers.

The award reflects the mission of ICFJ’s Knight Fellowships, which create and spread news innovation to better engage communities and improve lives. The programme is supported by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Award winners receive a trip to the United States, where they will be honored at ICFJ’s Awards Dinner on November 7, 2019. To be considered, applicants are required to fill out a form. ICFJ will contact applicants for additional information if their applications are successful. Candidates who meet the Awards criteria are allowed to nominate themselves.

All entries must be submitted by February 22, 2019.
