The ITU Telcom World 2015, a global ICT innovation event for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), corporate bodies and governments, is scheduled to hold in Budapest, Hungary, from October 12 to 15, 2015.
Influential participants from governments and industries all around the world will be in attendance to share knowledge and debate key issues such as the international standards in the Internet of Things, the current state of 5G, new connectivity solutions, consumer trust in big data, the digital single market and more.
The event will provide a platform for sharing knowledge;exhibiting digital solutions and a networking hub for nations, organisations and individuals. The discussions at ITU Telecom World 2015 will examine key developments and trends in technology, regulatory and policy issues, business models, services and applications under the theme of Accelerating Innovation for Social Impact.
Participants will include: small and medium SMEs, entrepreneurs and innovators; Ministers of ICT, regulators of ICT and any related sector, exhibitors from other nations and organizations around the world; Industry CEOs and investors; NGOs, Media Practitioners; Academics, consultants and digital thinkers.
The debate forum will be centred on three major subject matters:
- Accelerating digital transformation
- Expanding access to digital opportunities
- Building trust for our connected future
In preparation of this year’s edition of the ITU forum, Nigeria has constituted a committee to put together plans for its participation. The committee is made up of officials of Ministry of Communications Technology, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Galaxy Backbone, Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd (NigComSat), Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), and Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) among others.
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will form a major part of the delegation from Nigeria that will attend the ITU Telecom World 2015. Nigeria’s participation will build on the reality that regulatory robustness has led to a spiral growth in voice telephony and look beyond that by coming out with innovative products to improve the lives of the citizens.
Besides exceptional knowledge sharing and opportunities, ITU Telecom World 2015 will focus on accelerating innovation and growth of SMEs and innovative networking opportunities. Of particular interest is the role SMEs play in driving national economies.
