Journalists who showed up to cover the day’s proceedings were not allowed through the main entrance of the State Assembly as they were denied access to the premises on the instruction of the speaker, Hon. IdrisGarbaJahun who allegedly directed security agents not to allow journalists access to the premises.
Corporal Shehu, a security guard attached to the gate ensured the journalists were kept out, he told journalists that he was acting on the directive of the Speaker who ordered that no journalists should be allowed to enter the Assembly complex excepting the State government-owned media, Jigawa Television and Radio Jigawa.
