Operatives of the Lagos State Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit on August 7, 2023, arrested, manhandled, and detained Mr. Ikechi Nzeako, a reporter with the privately-owned Daily Independent newspaper, while he was covering the seizure of traders’ goods at the railway crossing in the Agege area of the State.
After a long debate by operatives of the task force on the proprietary of the arrest, they released him from the Black Maria but all the photographs he took were deleted before his phone was returned to him.
