The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police reportedly arrested Mr. Sunday Fashe, publisher of the online medium, African Examiner, took him to its detention facility called the “abattoir” and questioned him on how his reporter got information about a story he was working on. He was later released but asked to report back for further interrogation.
The African Examiner doing an investigative story regarding on Reuben Jigah, a former DFA in one of the federal parastatals had called him to get his response on the story.
Promising to get back to the publisher, the subject gave his number to SARS which then reached out to his reporter pretending to be a … from the courier firm DHL and claiming he had a parcel to deliver to the reporter and needed her address.
The reporter gave the office address and operatives of SARS stormed the officer and forced her to call Sunday and arrested him when he showed up. They interrogated him asking how he got the report he was working on.
