Operatives of the Nigerian Police on December 15, 2021 arrested two journalists with Roots TV,  Mr.Tosin Busayo, a cameraman, and Mr. Precious Uzoanya, a reporter with the television station in the Garki Area of Abuja while they were covering the #NorthIsBleeding protest that took place in  the Federal Capital Territory.

The #NorthIsBleeding protest, organised by northern youths to protest against the growing insecurity in the northern region, began at the Nigerian Labour House popular known as Ayuba Wabba House, Central Area.

The duo were taken to the Durumi Police Station before being transferred to the FCT Police Command Headquarters.

They were later released by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operation, Ben Igweh, after being subjected to interrogation on their motives for covering the protest.

Reporters have it that the police tortured and dehumanised two #NorthIsBleeding protesters who were arrested.
