Paradigm Initiative (PIN) and its partners are inviting stakeholders from the private sector, government, the academia, the media, human rights defenders, national human rights institutions, civil society, researchers, and other interested groups  to join its Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum 2022 (DRIF22) and engage under the theme – “Towards a digitally inclusive and rights-respecting Africa”.

DRIF22 will hold both virtually and in person. The hybrid sessions will commence with a three-day virtual session from April 12 to 14, 2022 followed by a series of in-person events from April 20 to May 20, 2022. Seventeen in-person sessions will be co-hosted by Country Partners in Namibia, Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Senegal, South Sudan, The Gambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana.

DRIF22 is PIN’s 9th edition of the Forum and it is a platform for communities of practice around privacy, affordable Internet, gender and ICTs, disability rights and ICTs, health surveillance during COVID-19 times, Internet shutdowns, and similar themes.

The event aims at creating platforms for discussing key issues, developing action plans to enhance digital rights and inclusion in Africa, and increasing networking and collaborations on digital rights and inclusion. In 2021, DRIF gathered 445 participants in 32 virtual and in-person sessions across 12 countries.

The registration will run for one month from March 7 to April 7, 2022.
