On October 11, 2020 Policemen attacked and brutalised an Arise crew covering the IGP Mohammed Adamu’s dissolution of SARS following the nationwide #EndSARS protests. The cameraman Francis Ogbonna was hit several times on the head and his camera destroyed while Ferdinand Duruoha was intimidated.
Again, on October 13, 2020 Nigerian Security Operatives in military uniform assaulted and seized the camera belonging to the Arise TV news crew covering the #EndSARS protests in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The TV crew members were trying to get the reactions from protesters at the entrance of the National Assembly complex in Abuja when they were attacked by the security operatives.
Ferdinand Duruoha, Arise News correspondent, was one of the assaulted crew members of the television station.
