Stockholm Internet Forum Holds In May 2013

The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, together with Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA) and the Internet Infrastructure Foundation, are organising the second Stockholm Internet Forum on Internet Freedom for Global Development (SIF13) on May 22 and 23, 2013.

The Stockholm Internet Forum is an annual conference that seeks to deepen discussions on how freedom and openness on the Internet promote economic and social development worldwide.

The Stockholm Internet Forum will take place at Münchenbryggeriet (The Brewery) at Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden.

The two-day Forum will bring together a broad spectrum of international participants, including representatives of governments, stakeholder organisations and the business sector as well as researchers and internet activists.

The Forum has two main themes for this year’s meeting which are‘Internet Freedom and Security’ and ‘Internet Freedom and Development’.Some of the key concepts that will be discussed at the forum include freedom and security on the internet, the importance of an open and free internet for global development and respect for human rights.
