Norbert Zongo African Investigative Journalism Award Calls for Entries

The Norbert Zongo National Press Center (CNP-NZ) and the Norbert Zongo Unit for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO) are inviting entries from journalists across the African continent for the Norbert Zongo African Investigative Journalism Award (PAJI-NZ).

PAJI-NZ aims to honor African journalists working in print, radio, television, and online media who have conducted exceptional investigations on critical issues such as corruption, organized crime, human rights violations, governance, environmental crimes, terrorism, and more.

Interested applicants must be African journalists employed by a reputable media organisation or regularly collaborating with a media organisation. Non-African journalists residing in Africa for a minimum of two years prior to the application and working on African issues are also eligible to apply.

Winners will be invited to attend the award ceremony, scheduled to take place from October 18 to 21, 2023, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, coinciding with the 10th edition of the International Festival for Freedom of Expression and the Press (FILEP).

All submissions for PAJI-NZ must have been published or broadcast between May 3, 2021, and May 3, 2023.

Submission of applications closes on August 15, 2023.
