Rory Peck Trust Unveils Presenters for 2013 Awards

The Rory Peck Trust has unveiled its presenters for the Rory Peck Awards slated to take place on November 20, 2013 at London’s British Film Institute (BFI) in Southbank, London.

Ms Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s Chief International Correspondent and ABC News Global Affairs Anchor, and Mr. James Mates, Europe Editor at ITV News, will host the Rory Peck Awards 2013.

The awards honour the work of freelance cameramen and women in the coverage of news event where the focus is on the immediacy of the story. It also celebrates the skill and achievement of freelancers around the world, emphasizing their importance to the news gathering industry.

Films and footage from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Mali, Somalia and Syria comprise the line-up for this year’s Rory Peck Awards as the finalists are announced.

The Rory Peck Awards is an initiative of the Rory Peck Trust, which is sponsored by Sony, to provide support, and serve as a resource platform for freelance news gatherers worldwide.
