The request was made in a call signed by Mr. LI Junhua, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.

The Internet Governance Forum’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group (IGF MAG) has been instrumental in planning the programme of the annual IGF meetings and DESA has expressed its our gratitude to all past and present members of MAG who have contributed their time, effort and valuable guidance in ensuring the smooth running of the IGF.‎

Stakeholders are invited to submit nominations for the MAG according to the established principles and practices of MAG rotation and selection of its members. Governments, the ‎private ‎sector, civil society, and the technical communities, are expected to submit names of candidates from developed and developing countries as well as from economies in transition. Successful nominees will become part of the MAG for a period of one year and will contribute to the ‎multistakeholder ‎consultation process, bringing the perspectives of their respective groups on Internet governance. In the composition of the membership due consideration will be given to geographical and stakeholder ‎distributions as well as gender balance.

More information about the selection and operating principles of the MAG is available ‎at the IGF ‎website. Names of nominees should be submitted to the IGF Secretariat by August 15, 2023, using ‎the online submission template.
