The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at Poynter Institute,  working with the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), Delfi and Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT), has opened registration for Global Fact 2026, an international gathering of fact-checkers, journalists, and information integrity professionals.

The summit will take place from June 17 to 19, 2026, in Vilnius, Lithuania, bringing together more than 400 fact-checkers from 80 countries to discuss how to fight misinformation, strengthen media integrity, and improve fact-checking practices globally.

The conference is a key global platform where fact-checkers and media professionals meet annually to share experiences and best practices, build partnerships and collaborations, learn new tools and methods for verifying information, and discuss current challenges in the information environment.

This year’s summit will focus on some of the most important issues affecting information integrity today, including the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in spreading and detecting misinformation; how fact-checkers can work with new technologies responsibly; the financial sustainability of fact-checking organisations; how to reach audiences that rely on social media, algorithms, and chatbots for news; and strengthening global cooperation against disinformation.

The event is designed for journalists and reporters, fact-checkers and verification specialists, media and communication professionals, researchers and academics working on information integrity, and civil society organisations focused on media freedom and digital rights.

The three-day summit will feature expert presentations and panel discussions, practical training sessions, networking opportunities with global media professionals, and collaborative sessions to build solutions to misinformation challenges.

More than 500 participants are expected to attend from across the world, making it one of the most important global spaces for information integrity work.

Interested participants can register online via the official event portal at https://bit.ly/434eQLJ. Early registration is encouraged as spaces are limited.
