Communications Officer
Idowu joined MRA as a programme officer and is currently the organization’s Communications Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Information System from Babcock University in Ogun State.
He coordinates and oversees the organization’s public communications activities both offline and online using its robust communication channels. He is also in charge of developing communication strategies consisting of the use of a mix of conventional and social media platforms and outlets across the organization’s programmes and project activities.
Idowu is tasked with providing visibility for the organization by disseminating its activities to different audiences through press statements, newsletters, email listserv, website and social media platforms, among others. He also provides IT support and assistance to staff.
Since joining the organization, Idowu has built his capacity through various training on issues relating to digital security, internet governance, freedom of information, freedom of expression and financial sustainability.
He is a member of the Internet Society (ISOC), Nigeria Chapter as well as an alumnus of the African School on Internet Governance (AfriSIG). In 2019, he was selected as a fellow of the African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC).
His interests cut across content writing, volunteering and wildlife documentaries.
