Nigeria Had 114 Million Internet Subscribers in February 2019, Says NCC

There were 114,725,357 active subscribers for internet services across four mobile telecommunications service providers in Nigeria as at February 2019, with the MTN network accounting for the highest number of subscribers, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The latest figures released by the NCC showing the number of data subscribers on each of the four licensed service provers, indicated that MTN had 46,538,633 data services subscribers as at February this year with Airtel coming second with 30,891,515 subscribers.  Globacom had 27,486,271 while 9mobile had 9,808,935 subscribers.

NCC said each of the licensed service providers utilizes different technologies, namely GSM and CDMA.

It put the number of broadband Internet subscribers in Nigeria at 63,136.978 with broadband penetration at 33.08 per cent.
