WAN-IFRA Hosts African Digital Media Awards

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) will in November 2017 host the Digital Media Africa Awards to honour individuals and companies with ground-breaking digital products that engage readers while increasing their online business.

The Award categories are for: best news website; best entertainment, sports and lifestyle website; best use of online video, best data visualization; best news mobile service; best entertainment, sports and lifestyle mobile service; best innovation to engage youth audiences best social media engagement; best digital advertising campaign; and best new products.

The awards are for news publishers and journalists who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies in their journalism work.

Interested applicants should register on WAN-IFRA website http://events.wan-ifra.org/events/digital-media-africa-2017. The online registration portal allows for registration of entries for different categories of publications or services from the same company

To submit more entries from the same publication or service under one category, applicants will be required to re-enter the name of their publications with a distinctive serial number: e.g. MyDaily-1, MyDaily-2, etc.

The award ceremony will be held during Africa’s #1 Digital Revenue Conference coming up November 29 and 30, 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Applicants’ works must have been published in 2016. Winners will compete in WAN-IFRA’s World Digital Media Awards.

The submission deadline is July 31, 2017.
